Design Engineer/Draughtsman - electromechanical Based inLeeds / South Leeds LS10 2PP Salary and Benefits: Very Competitive Salary + Benefits Permanent Full time

Job Outline: 

A small company in South Leeds is looking to recruit a Design Engineer / Draughtsman to join their multi-skilled and dynamic Engineering team. The company design and manufacture high security and safety critical locking systems for National Infrastructure, Architectural, Custodial and Rail Vehicle applications in the UK and overseas, and are looking to introduce several new products in 2014.

 The successful candidate will be expected to work on 3D CAD (Solidworks), should have experience of designing mechanisms and assemblies, and have an appreciation of methods of manufacture (casting, machining, sheet metal etc.) to optimise Design for Manufacture.

 Products generally interface with access control and monitoring systems so electromechanical experience is desirable, as is an understanding of product testing, metallurgy, reliability and FMECA. Project management experience would be an advantage but not essential.

 This position is based in Leeds / South Leeds.
